Temple De Hirsch Sinai, Seattle
Temple De Hirsch Sinai is a Reform Jewish temple in Seattle. Reform is the most liberal branch of Judaism, which seeks to apply Jewish traditions with modern life.
The temple's design (and function) combines past with present and secular with sacred. The concrete main building has a 1960s space-age look to it, but the parking lot is lined with fluted Hellenistic columns.
A significant portion of the temple's funds go towards Jewish heritage and studies as well as religion. The library holds not only books and papers, but more than 500 films on all things Jewish, where anyone is welcome to come study and learn.
The Temple also administers the Goldfarb Schwartz Sanctuary in Bellevue.
