Photo Gallery: Antioch Mosaics
This gallery of 104 photos accompanies our article on Antioch. This gallery contains photos of mosaics found in ancient Antioch (modern Antakya, Turkey) and the nearby villages of Daphne and Seleucia Pieria. The Antioch mosaics are among the finest collections of Roman mosaics that have been discovered anywhere. Most were unearthed during excavations in the 1930s and are now displayed in the Hatay Archaeological Museum in Antakya. A significant number of mosaics are displayed elsewhere, including the Worcester, Baltimore and Princeton Art Museums in the USA and the Louvre in Paris.
