"Good Shepherd" Monument

Monument to Amme Serverina from the 3rd century AD. A shepherd carrying a sheep symbolized belief in a life after death. The portrayal was later adopted by the Christian church for Jesus, who said he was "the good shepherd." Inv. 74, 414.
