Detail of the Last Judgment Tympanum (1107-1125) over the west door. The Resurrection of the Dead, which progresses from left to right. Note the dead emerge from their tombs in full flesh, not the skeletons of later medieval art. The inscription above and below reads: "Thus are given to the chosen who have won the joys of heaven, glory, peace, rest and eternal light.... They are filled with joy and, secure, have nothing to fear."
