Detail of the Last Judgment Tympanum (1107-1125) over the west door, in bright sun. The damned are pushed into the Jaws of Hell by a demon, who seems to look longingly at a soul who has just been pulled into heaven by an angel. The angel meets the devil's gaze while protectively grasping the hand of the saved person.
