Jewish Museum, London
The Jewish Museum of London tells a comprehensive history of the Jews in London from Norman times, though the bulk of the exhibits date from after the end of the 17th century, when Cromwell repealed the laws against Jewish settlement.
The Ceremonial Art Gallery holds a collection of rare pieces, and the Audio-Visual Gallery follows London Jewish life from cradle to grave.
The museum's branch at the Sternberg Centre in Finchley covers social history, with changing exhibitions, and permanent exhibits and tape archives on the Holocaust, in the words of survivors.
