The Great Synagogue (Velká Synagoga) of Plzen is one of the largest synagogues in the world.

Plzen's Great Synagogue was built in 1892 when the Jewish community in Plzen numbered as many as 2,000. It now numbers only in the hundreds.

A painstaking restoration project has brought back the Moorish-style synagogue's beauty and is well worth visiting.
