Chapel of Christ of the Tears, Cochabamba

The Capilla Cristo de las Lágrimas de San Pedro (Chapel of Christ of the Tears of St. Peter) in Cochabamba enshrines a mysterious sculpture of Christ. Since 1995, it has wept tears of human blood every Good Friday.

The tears have been tested in an Australian lab, and they are indeed of human blood. The statue has also been examined for fraudulent mechanisms and found to be hollow. And to top it all off, the weeping has been caught on film— you can watch it online here.

Inside, the chapel displays pictures of what the sculpture looked like when it was new (much less bloody).
