Our Lady of AbsamIn 1797, in the small village of Absam near Innsbruck, an 18-year-old girl saw an image of the Virgin Mary appear in the windowpane. The image remained on the glass, was determined to be miraculous, and soon began to effect miraculous healings. Today, the small glass pane with the image of the Virgin is enshrined in the parish church for veneration.
Gurk CathedralThe Cathedral of Gurk is an impressive cathedral filled with beautiful architecture and art. It also contains the tomb altar of the beloved Saint Hemma, an 11th-century Austria noblewomen who devoted her later life to God and to the poor.
